Other photography
Along with my formally curated projects, I also shoot a variety of different subjects and environments. Some may form the basis of future projects while others are shot for some practical reason (like photoshoots for artits projects) or just because I couldn't help it. Film photography just lends itself to experimentation and each style and lighting condition really requires a different approach. Other than experiencing joy while trying new things, I believe it lets you to perfect your skills and "learn the craft" as such. I would rather cosciously choose a certain style rather than be simply stuck in one involuntarily for a lack of experimentation.
Documenting Limerick City
Limerick City is my hometown and a place where I have spent over 18 years of my life.
I have witnessed and experienced many things in Limerick, many stories and many changes. Despite having studied college abroad for the most part of the last few years, I came back to Limerick often to visit my family and friends. Once I started shooting on film, Limerick quickly became a place of interest. There are several things I associate with the city that are quickly changing and fading away. My intentions are to capture the last feelings of the "punk, wild, working class city" that make up Limerick's history and legacy.

Photoshoots
Since I usually happened to be around with a camera and the only available photographer at Blowout Records, I have often done themed photoshoots for our artists and their projects. We would generally chose a colour theme or specific locations/conditions, film stock and style that fits in with our required purpose.

Cross Processed Fujichrome 64T
Through luck and some searching, I got my hands of quite a supply of expired (but well stored) Fujichrome 64T slide film. I usually use this film for night photography, metered at iso 50 and standard E6 dev, but I tried to cross process it in C41 chemistry with these interesting, heavy casted results.

Nature
As dull and cliché as it may sound, I find nature very inspiring and beutiful. From a young age it was important to me to spend time outdoors (I used to feel like Limerick was something of a grey desert). Since I started shooting film, I usually bring my camera with me to the places I travel to and save some film stocks to capture natural elements. "Cheap" Kodak Color + and Fuji 200 stocks do a great job for the most part but I have also been lucky to source some legacy Fuji slide films like Velvia or Provia.
